A Field Service Technician services and repairs equipment and machines in a variety of customer locations such as residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Workers in this field can specialize in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of industrial, hardware, construction or electronic equipment just to name a few. These roles may work in a variety of remote locations and can travel up to multiple locations in a day.
The technician will perform repair work on a wide variety of equipment ranging from complete machine overhauls to minor repairs such as fixing leaks, changing fluids and filters. Other types of repairs may include rebuild components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic pumps. Installations may include undercarriage on track machines, attachments on plumbing excavators for hammers or scalers, quick coupler attachments on loaders, excavators and backhoes. Service on company vehicles and small equipment as well.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform daily and operational activities to include the following, but not limited to: Troubleshoot equipment problem/diagnose failure Perform diagnostic functions, check pressures, check voltage, locate source of noise or vibration Disassemble machine, order parts, make repairs, assemble machine, check machine operation make sure repairs are complete and confirm problem is fixed unit has no leaks, and is work ready Clean parts, scrape gaskets, prep for assembly Moderate travel to assist in-field equipment repairs Maintain safety and cleanliness of work environment Travel to vendor training sessions as needed Overtime as needed
Job Qualifications:
Must have High School Diploma or equivalent Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the heavy equipment industry or a related field Must have a valid driver's license Excellent written and oral communication and basic mathematical skills Ability to utilize computers for diagnostics, using manufacturer provided programs Must have a good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems and how they are integrated Ability to stoop, kneel, push, pull, twist, carry and lift up to 70lbs Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet Able to work in all types of weather conditions Capable of working with limited supervision / self-starter Must be able to pass a background, physical, and drug screen Must be a team-player Competitive pay will be based on experience level.
