Your mission:
keep our clients' ice merchandisers—commercial low-temp refrigeration units used to store and display bagged ice—running at peak performance. At each location, you'll perform preventive maintenance, trace faults, diagnose issues, and complete repairs. Some calls lean mechanical or refrigeration. Others require electrical know-how, low-voltage troubleshooting, or even light plumbing. Every stop is different, and that variety is what makes the work rewarding. What you'll do Perform scheduled maintenance and corrective repairs on ice merchandiser freezers Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, HVAC/R, and plumbing issues Work with low-voltage controls and, when applicable, programmable logic controllers Document work using a handheld device and follow reporting SOPs Operate safely with power tools, lifts, and ladders while meeting quality standards What sets you up for success EPA certification (required) 2+ years of hands-on service/repair in electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, or plumbing Valid operator's/Class C driver's license with acceptable MVR High school diploma or journeyman certification/license (electrical, plumbing, or mechanical) or equivalent experience Basic computer and handheld proficiency, including structured reporting Where and how you'll work Primarily in retail environments, traveling frequently between stores and our plant Minimal travel with potential overnight stays Weekend, night, and holiday shifts are part of the role; overtime may be required Lift up to 60 lbs; use installation lift equipment; climb ladders; work with power tools Thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing setting; manage stress; build collaborative relationships; solve complex problems Why Reddy Ice This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive hourly wage and extensive, hands-on training designed to support long-term growth at Reddy Ice.
