Field Service Technician Location:
Texarkana, Texas Starting Salary:
$50,000+ based on experience Make Your Technical Expertise Matter Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working directly with customers, troubleshooting technical issues, and finding ways to improve product performance? We're looking for a Field Service Technician to serve as a key technical connection between customers and internal engineering, quality, and operations teams. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in aluminum manufacturing, materials science, process engineering, quality, or technical sales who wants a role that combines technical expertise, customer interaction, travel, and problem-solving. What You'll Do Visit customers to understand their processes, needs, product applications, and expectations. Provide technical and quality support to help customers achieve optimal product performance. Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and help develop corrective actions. Coordinate and evaluate customer product trials and communicate results to internal teams. Analyze production history, quality data, defects, and claims to identify trends and potential issues. Present technical findings and corrective action plans to customers and internal leadership. Conduct customer, warehouse, and outside processor audits as needed. Prepare detailed customer visit reports and communicate findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions. Build strong, professional relationships with customers and internal teams. Work closely with Quality, Technical, Operations, and Sales teams to resolve issues and improve customer satisfaction. Follow all safety, quality, and confidentiality requirements. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a confident technical problem solver who can walk into a customer's facility, understand what's happening, ask the right questions, and work with multiple teams to find a solution.
You should have:
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good numerical and computer skills. The ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams. A professional, results-oriented approach. The ability to communicate effectively with everyone from production personnel to senior leadership.
Qualifications One of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Sales/Marketing with at least 3 years of technical sales experience; or Bachelor's degree in Science, preferably Metallurgical/Materials Science or Process Engineering; or 5-10 years of operational experience and quality knowledge in aluminum rolling or a closely related manufacturing environment in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Preferred Experience 3+ years of technical sales experience, preferably involving aluminum or industrial products. Experience with aluminum manufacturing, rolling, quality, materials, or process engineering. Experience working directly with industrial customers. Experience with root cause analysis, quality systems, audits, or customer claims. Additional Requirements Ability to travel regularly to customer locations. Ability to work flexible hours when needed. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Commitment to maintaining a safe and professional work environment. What's In It For You?
