The Tactical Response Technician is a self-starter and motivated individual. We are looking for individuals who excel with a wide variety of technical, process and people development skills. Communication is highly important. Excellent oral and written communication required. A strong will to become a leader through personal development and development of the team. This position can be based out of anywhere in the US as long as you're close to a local service center; It does requires regular travel across the US and sometimes globally in support of other service centers, engineering teams, end of line and manufacturing factory operations. What You'll Do Performs work in the diagnosis, repair, and service of Tesla electric vehicles just manufactured in our Fremont factory, in the field at service centers, CONUS and OCONUS locations Performs diagnosis, and repair on electric power train systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension and even body work for Tesla Roadster, Model S, X, Y and 3 Experience and ability to generate field reports of a technical or operational nature, detailed daily record keeping and reporting Perform other related duties as assigned Operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand power tools, shop tools, and automotive and electrical test equipment Provides high-level technical field support to technicians who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and troubleshooting our vehicles Engage in technical training and coaching to the field by providing the latest diagnosis and repair product changes and information What You'll Bring Able to travel 75% of the time 3 - 5 years of experience in engineering shop and/or dealer shop environment, 5+ years in the automotive industry preferred ASE certifications A1-A8, a plus Hybrid experience a bonus Certification to repair A/C systems and handle refrigerant Valid driver's license Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $28.97 - $42.60/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
