We are looking for a customer-focused professional who takes ownership , leads with integrity , and collaborates selflessly to support our clients' success. We are seeking a Lead Dairy Service Technician to join our team who will serve as the primary technical expert and on-site leader for system installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role is responsible for leading complex installations, diagnosing advanced system issues, and ensuring high-quality execution of field work. The Lead Technician coaches and develops other technicians, drives consistency in field practices, and acts as a key liaison between field teams and other segments of the organization. Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities Field Operations & Installation Leadership Lead installation of footbath, fly spray, and integrated systems at customer sites Plan and execute complex installs, including plumbing, welding, electrical, and fabrication work Collaborate with builders, contractors, and dairy operations teams to develop facility layouts and installation plans, including footbaths, chemical rooms, utility systems, and other new construction or expansion projects Serve as on-site lead, coordinating work, assigning tasks, and ensuring timelines are met Ensure installations meet quality, safety, and design standards Modify system designs in the field based on site conditions and customer needs Advanced Troubleshooting & Technical Expertise Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and system performance issues Troubleshoot SmartTank, SmartSight, Unified Controller, and integrated system components Analyze system performance (flow, pressure, electrical load, chemical usage) and implement improvements Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions Provide technical guidance to technicians and escalate issues when needed Fabrication & System Design Perform advanced welding and fabrication, including custom builds (headers, downpipes, pods, exit lane modifications) Design and modify plumbing layouts (including pressure, flow, and system efficiency considerations) Support or design custom solutions for challenging installs Ensure structural integrity and durability of installed systems Safety & Compliance Leadership Lead job site safety practices, ensuring compliance with PPE, vehicle safety, and regulatory requirements Conduct job hazard assessments and mitigate site risks proactively Ensure safe work practices around livestock and agricultural environments Coach team members on safety expectations and enforce standards Team Leadership & Development Train, mentor, and coach Field Service Technicians (I-II) Provide real-time feedback and hands-on training during installs and service work Support onboarding of new technicians Reinforce best practices and standard operating procedures Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement Ability to lead a Planner Call/Meeting•navigate through SF to overview and discus Service Appts, Installs and Prioritize for a region Systems & Documentation Ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders, service appointments, and inventory tracking in Salesforce Utilize SmartTank, SmartSight, and Unified controller data to diagnose issues and monitor system performance Support process improvements and provide feedback on tools, systems, and field practices Inventory & Logistics Oversee truck inventory and job materials for accuracy and readiness Anticipate material needs for upcoming installs and complex jobs Work with operations to ensure proper material availability
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record 5+ years of field service, installation, or technical trade experience Demonstrated expertise in plumbing, welding, electrical, and mechanical systems Proven ability to lead projects or teams in field environments Preferred Qualifications Experience in agricultural or dairy environments Advanced welding and fabrication experience Experience with control systems, sensors, and automation Familiarity with Salesforce or field service management tools Experience leading installations or field teams QAL License Why Join Us?
