Equipment Field Service Technician Full Time | San Jose, CA | 50%+ Domestic Travel Technica, USA is looking for an experienced Equipment Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and rebuild advanced manufacturing equipment used in PCB and PCBA production environments. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, traveling to customer sites, and getting to the root of technical problems rather than sitting behind a desk every day. As an Equipment Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for supporting customers throughout the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of capital equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Install, commission, and service equipment at customer facilities Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and equipment issues Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment rebuilds Diagnose equipment problems and identify effective solutions Conduct equipment audits and performance evaluations Provide on site technical support to help customers minimize production downtime Read and interpret electrical schematics Troubleshoot and maintain PLC controlled equipment Document service activities and prepare detailed service reports Communicate directly with customers regarding equipment performance and service needs Work independently while utilizing internal and external resources to resolve technical issues We are looking for someone who is hands on, mechanically and technically inclined, dependable, and comfortable working independently in the field.
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 2 years of experience in PCB, PCBA, industrial manufacturing, equipment service, maintenance, automation, or a related technical environment Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment Experience working with PLC controlled equipment Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Strong computer skills and ability to create detailed service documentation Strong customer service and communication skills A positive, solution oriented approach to troubleshooting Ability to work independently with minimal supervision A valid U.S. driver's license Authorization to work in the United States Stable work history with verifiable professional references This position requires more than 50% domestic travel , often with short notice. Preferred experience servicing or maintaining equipment used in: Printed Circuit Board manufacturing PCBA manufacturing SMT manufacturing Industrial automation Semiconductor or electronics manufacturing Other advanced manufacturing environments PCB or PCBA experience is highly valued, but we are also interested in strong field service and industrial equipment technicians with transferable technical experience. This is a hands on field service position. The successful candidate must be able to: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds Push and pull equipment weighing up to 200 pounds Move equipment weighing up to 1,000 pounds with appropriate equipment such as carts, pallet jacks, or equipment skates Frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, and work in various physical positions Work safely around industrial equipment, chemicals, noise, temperature variations, confined spaces, and other manufacturing environments Ready to Put Your Technical Skills to Work?
