Strategic Placement Partners is hiring on behalf of a growing client for an experienced Mobile Field Service Technician . This is a skilled, independent field role where you'll operate your own fully equipped company service truck and travel directly to customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy trucks and mobile equipment. This is NOT an entry-level position. We're looking for technicians with real-world experience in hydraulics, diesel, electrical systems, PTOs, and truck-mounted equipment.
IMPORTANT TRAVEL & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
The first two months will include out-of-state training. You will be home on weekends during this training period. After training, this is a field-based position that requires significant driving to customer locations throughout your territory. Some customer jobs will be farther from home and will require overnight hotel stays . You should be comfortable spending considerable time on the road and working independently at customer sites. Qualified candidates will be sponsored to obtain a Class B CDL within the first 60 days What You'll Be Doing Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and diesel systems Repair and maintain knuckle boom cranes, bucket trucks, aerial equipment, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, heavy trucks, trailers, and other mobile equipment Perform preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and warranty repairs Travel extensively to customer locations for scheduled and emergency service calls Stay overnight in hotels when customer jobs require extended-distance travel Communicate directly with fleet managers and customers regarding equipment condition and repair recommendations Complete accurate work orders, service reports, and parts documentation Maintain a clean, organized, and safe company service truck Work independently while representing the company professionally at customer locations What You Bring 3+ years of recent hands-on experience as a Mobile Field Service Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician, Crane Technician, Utility Equipment Technician, Diesel Technician, Fleet Mechanic, or similar Strong troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, electrical, diesel, PTO, and mechanical systems Experience repairing truck-mounted equipment Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics Your own basic mechanic's hand tools Ability to lift 75+ lbs Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Clean driving record Comfortable with extensive driving and overnight travel when required Welding experience is a plus CDL Requirement A Class B CDL is required for the position. Don't have your CDL yet? Qualified candidates will be sponsored to obtain their Class B CDL within the first 60 days.
