A Field Service Technician services and repairs equipment and machines in a variety of customer locations such as residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Workers in this field can specialize in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of industrial, hardware, construction or electronic equipment just to name a few. These roles may work in a variety of remote locations and can travel up to multiple locations in a day.
Position Summary The Field Service Representative (FSR) / Cabinet Service Technician is responsible for monitoring jobsite progress, completing field measures and layouts, coordinating with Builders and MCS Designers/Account Managers, and performing cabinetry service and repair work. This position helps ensure jobsites are properly prepared, information is accurately documented, and cabinetry installations meet or exceed MCS and Builder standards. Key Responsibilities Track assigned projects through key construction stages, including Lot Scrape, Slab Poured, Framing Completed, and Measure/Layout Date . Maintain accurate and timely job-stage information in the MCS database for scheduling, tracking, and forecasting purposes. Visit jobsites regularly to verify construction progress and readiness for upcoming cabinetry work. Perform accurate field measurements and cabinetry layouts according to project plans and specifications. Verify that jobsite conditions meet cabinetry design and installation requirements. Identify discrepancies between plans, measurements, and actual field conditions before installation. Communicate jobsite issues and required corrections directly with Builder Superintendents, Designers/Account Managers, installers, and other MCS team members . Provide Designers/Account Managers with accurate field information needed to finalize designs, orders, and installation requirements. Perform cabinetry service, repair, adjustment, and punch-list work in residential homes and active construction sites. Troubleshoot cabinetry issues and determine appropriate repair or corrective action. Repair and adjust cabinetry components including doors, drawers, hardware, panels, trim, moldings, and related materials. Document service issues, completed work, required materials, and necessary follow-up. Maintain direct and professional communication with homeowners, Builder Superintendents, and other trade partners while representing MCS in the field. Maintain a clean and organized work area and protect finished surfaces while performing service work. Properly maintain company tools, equipment, materials, and assigned vehicle. Follow all MCS safety policies, Builder jobsite requirements, and industry best practices . Work independently while managing multiple jobsites, priorities, and deadlines. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times. Qualifications Cabinet installation, service, finish carpentry, construction, or related field experience preferred. Ability to accurately read plans, drawings, measurements, and cabinetry layouts. Strong measuring, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of cabinetry installation, hardware, adjustments, and repairs. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential jobsite problems. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple jobsites. Basic computer/tablet skills for job tracking and documentation. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to safely lift and maneuver cabinetry components, tools, and materials as required.
