Traveling Field Service Technician•Hydraulics & Electrical (Southeast US) Location / Travel Primary territory: Southeast United States (AL, GA, FL, SC, NC, TN, MS, LA, AR, and parts of KY/VA) 80-100% travel required (mostly drivability within the region; occasional overnight stays) Home-based position•no relocation required Company service vehicle, fuel card, tools, and per diem provided Job Summary We are looking for a skilled Traveling Field Service Technician with strong expertise in hydraulics, Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs), PLC/controls, PCB-level electronics, and electrical troubleshooting. You will be responsible for on-site diagnostics, repair, preventive maintenance, and emergency service on customer equipment throughout the Southeast. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs), cylinders, valves, pumps, motors, and manifolds Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems (24VDC-480VAC, 3-phase, motor controls, VFDs) Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical prints, and PLC ladder logic Perform PCB-level diagnostics and component-level repair/replacement on control boards Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Automation Direct, etc.) and HMIs Conduct start-up, commissioning, and customer training on new or repaired equipment Perform preventive maintenance and system audits Respond to emergency breakdown calls (on-call rotation) Complete detailed service reports, parts usage, and time tracking via mobile device Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory in excellent condition Required Qualifications Preferred 5+ years of hands-on field service experience with industrial hydraulics and electrical systems Advanced knowledge of Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs)•design, troubleshooting, and repair Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (multimeter, oscilloscope, megger, etc.) Experience with PCB diagnostics and soldering/rework (component-level repair) Proficiency with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix strongly preferred) Ability to read and red-line hydraulic and electrical schematics Valid driver's license and clean driving record Ability to pass background checks and drug screens Physically capable of lifting 70+ lbs, working in confined spaces, and on elevated platforms Preferred Qualifications Fluid Power Society certification (CFPS, CFPAI, etc.) Factory training on major hydraulic brands (Parker, Eaton, Bosch Rexroth, etc.) Experience with proportional/servo valves and closed-loop systems Familiarity with mobile equipment (aerial lifts, refuse trucks, marine winches, etc.) Compensation Competitive hourly rate ($25•40/hr) Weekly per diem when overnight travel is required Company service truck + fuel card Factory training and certification All tools, test equipment are provided We are actively hiring and looking to fill this position immediately.
