We stay busy year-round and are looking for an experienced Lead Mitigation Technician to join our team. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the restoration process, and can confidently lead a crew and manage jobs from start to finish. Position Overview The Lead Mitigation Technician is responsible for overseeing mitigation projects in the field, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, professionally, and according to industry standards. You will be expected to lead technicians, communicate with homeowners and insurance-related parties, document jobs properly, identify additional opportunities, and ensure the project is properly prepared for billing and/or reconstruction. Responsibilities Lead and oversee mitigation crews on residential and commercial projects Perform and supervise: Water extraction and structural drying Moisture monitoring and documentation Minor demolition Contents manipulation and pack-outs Mold remediation Fire and smoke damage cleanup Board-up and structure stabilization Trash and debris removal Cleaning and small punch-out/restoration tasks Take accurate moisture readings and determine appropriate drying procedures Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment Complete required job documentation, photos, notes, and moisture records Ensure all work is performed efficiently and according to company and industry standards Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, adjusters, and other parties Understand whether a loss is insurance-related or private pay Understand basic homeowners insurance policy coverage as it relates to mitigation Identify additional work opportunities and confidently communicate available services to customers Write accurate estimates/invoices using Xactimate Use Mitigate, Docusketch, CompanyCam, and other restoration software Coordinate material pickup, supply delivery, and equipment needs Assist with rebuild projects and understand the transition from mitigation to reconstruction Maintain clean, organized vehicles, equipment, and job sites Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule every other week Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of restoration industry experience Previous Lead Technician experience is mandatory IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is mandatory Strong understanding of water mitigation and structural drying Experience with mold and fire restoration preferred Proficient with Xactimate Experience with Mitigate, Docusketch, and CompanyCam Experience writing mitigation estimates/invoices Understanding of insurance claims and homeowners policies Experience with restoration/reconstruction projects preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record/MVR Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent customer service skills Professional appearance and attitude Able to work independently and effectively lead a team Must be able to lift at least 70 lbs. without assistance Reliable transportation and dependable attendance What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a job from start to finish. The ideal candidate doesn't need to be micromanaged. You should be able to walk onto a loss, assess the situation, develop a plan, direct your technicians, communicate with the customer, document the work, monitor the drying process, and make sure the job is properly completed and ready for billing or reconstruction. You must be comfortable working in challenging environments involving water, sewage, mold, smoke, fire damage, demolition, and debris. Schedule & On-Call Requirement This is a 24/7 emergency restoration company. The standard schedule is approximately 40+ hours per week, with overtime opportunities. This position requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule every other week, including nights, weekends, and holidays when scheduled.
