Job Description
Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning:
Install, level, set up, and commission advanced multi-axis CNC machines and optical/laser metrology equipment at client facilities.Diagnostics & Repair:
Perform complex electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting on CNC machine components (ball screws, linear guides, drives, motors, chillers and CNC controls).Calibration & Metrology:
Execute high-precision calibration and testing to verify machine geometric alignment and accuracy.Preventive Maintenance:
Perform scheduled PM protocols, mechanical alignments, and routine system inspections to maximize equipment uptime and repeatability.Technical Support & Training:
Provide technical guidance, operational support, and customer training for client operators and maintenance teams.Documentation:
Complete field service reports, calibration certificates, PM checklists, in a timely and professional manner.Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and quality standards both on-site and in customer facilities.Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
3+ years of experience in CNC field service, machine tool repair, precision calibration, and/or metrology equipment maintenance. Strong understanding and demonstrated spatial awareness of multiple 3D coordinate systems, volumetric accuracy, and their relation to each other within a robotic or CNC workspace.IT Literacy:
Ability to efficiently navigate advanced settings, driver configurations, and communication ports within Windows 10 and 11. Hands-on proficiency with Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, or Mitsubishi CNC and/or robotic controls. Solid background in electro-mechanical diagnostics, schematics reading (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic), and PLC troubleshooting. Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, indicators, laser interferometers, ballbars, optical aligners).Personal Requirements:
Education:
Associate degree or certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent trade school/military training preferred.Autonomy:
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of executing and documenting complex technical applications with minimal supervision.Communication:
Fluent in English (written and verbal) with excellent interpersonal and customer-facing communication skills.Travel:
Ability to travel by air and ground within the United States to customer facilities (up to 50%-70%). Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license.Soft Skills:
Professional customer service demeanor, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in field environments.Legal Authorization:
