Position SummaryOur client, a growing industrial manufacturing company located in Batavia, IL is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide hands-on installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment at customer locations.

This position is ideal for a mechanically strong technician with experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems. The Field Service Technician will work directly with customers, assist with machine installations and startups, respond to equipment issues, and ensure machinery is operating safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently in industrial environments and traveling both domestically and internationally-up to 75%.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, assemble, set up, adjust, and service industrial machinery and equipment.

Perform mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical assembly and troubleshooting.

Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, calibration, and equipment adjustments.

Diagnose equipment malfunctions and identify root causes of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.

Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and production-related service calls.

Troubleshoot equipment efficiently to minimize customer downtime.

Assist with machine startup, commissioning, testing, calibration, and performance verification.

Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, mechanical drawings, machine manuals, and technical documentation.

Safely disassemble and reassemble industrial machinery using appropriate tools and material-handling equipment.

Work with overhead cranes, hoists, and other equipment as required.

Communicate directly with customers to understand equipment issues and provide technical assistance.

Explain repair requirements and recommend additional service or corrective actions when appropriate.

Accurately document service activities, equipment conditions, troubleshooting findings, repairs, parts used, and recommendations.

Maintain accurate travel records and submit timely travel and expense reports.

Follow all company safety procedures and customer-site requirements.
