Fitzgerald Equipment Company is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Field Service Technician to join our team at our Mackinaw, Illinois location . As a Field Service Technician, you will travel to customer locations to diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and other material handling equipment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys troubleshooting mechanical problems, and is comfortable working independently while providing excellent service to our customers. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain material handling equipment at customer locations Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment inspections Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related equipment issues Complete repairs efficiently and accurately to minimize customer downtime Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and service needs Maintain accurate service records and documentation Properly maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and service vehicle Follow company and customer safety procedures at all times Work closely with the Service Department and other team members to ensure excellent customer service Equipment May Include Forklifts and lift trucks Electric and internal-combustion equipment Aerial and scissor lifts Floor sweepers and scrubbers Pallet jacks Industrial carts and personnel carriers Other material handling equipment Qualifications Mechanical or equipment repair experience preferred Experience with forklifts, heavy equipment, automotive, agricultural, diesel, or industrial equipment is a plus Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems preferred Ability to work independently and manage daily service assignments Strong communication and customer service skills Valid driver's license with a good driving record High school diploma or equivalent Ability to safely lift 50 pounds or more Willingness to participate in ongoing training and certification programs Don't have forklift experience?
