Job Description

Basic Water Technician Location:
Linthicum Heights, MD Full time Position Overview This position is responsible for providing operational support in mitigation efforts for clients. Qualified candidates must have the ability to perform tasks related to pumping and extracting water, as well as mold removal, and must use various types of specialized equipment under supervision. This position represents Level 2 in the progressive path of water damage restoration. Responsibilities Must be able to receive and follow instructions provided by the team leader. Understand and follow MSDS protocols for chemical products used during mitigation processes. Perform daily inspections of vehicle safety and maintenance while ensuring vehicles remain clean and in excellent working condition. Maintain strong attention to detail. Demonstrate mastery of the Water Damage Restoration Handbook used by Our Client. Under supervision, demonstrate proper use of scrapers, rinse rods, weighted extractors, portable extraction units, and approved water drainage and disposal systems. Build appropriate containment systems using proper calculations and equipment, including negative air machines and HEPA vacuums. Properly use cleaning and disinfecting solutions and apply debris-removal techniques in confined spaces. Utilize proper lifting techniques, sliding pads, and polystyrene foam blocks while protecting customers' personal property. Under supervision, remove vapor barriers, label recoverable materials, create airflow openings, install Injectidry, Directed-In, and Octi-Dry systems, and operate penetrating and non-penetrating moisture meters. Adhere to the standards established by Our Client to safeguard customer property. Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and professionalism. Work efficiently within established timelines and project deadlines. Travel periodically and work nights and weekends as needed. Accurately document labor hours, equipment usage, and consumable materials. Attend company-sponsored operational and safety training programs. Requirements Water pumping and extraction Mold remediation Moving and resetting contents Setting up drying equipment Applying antimicrobial treatments as needed Performing vehicle safety and maintenance inspections Maintaining vehicles in clean, serviceable condition Constructing polyethylene containment systems Removing and disposing of debris Maintaining equipment used during daily operations Performing additional duties as assigned Qualifications Ability to identify products, consumables, and their usage and disposal requirements following training Knowledge of various pump systems Eligibility to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with company policy A strong sense of urgency, professionalism, a positive attitude, and a solid work ethic English language proficiency and literacy Physical Demands Frequent lifting of more than 50 pounds Occasional assisted lifting of more than 41 pounds (up to 50% of the time) Ability to access and work in confined spaces Capability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods Ability to use mobile devices for timekeeping and data collection Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
