About Sanitation Strategies Sanitation Strategies is a leading provider of hygienic solutions to the biomedical research marketplace. Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, quality-focused Field Service Technician to join our service team in the Southern Michigan / Northern Indiana / Northwest Ohio region . Candidates should be located generally between Chicago, Toledo, Lansing, and Indianapolis; candidates within those metro areas are also encouraged to apply. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, working independently, and building strong relationships with customers. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, customer service, and technical skills. Regular travel within a multi-state territory is required, including some overnight travel. A company vehicle is provided. Main Responsibilities Provide exceptional service and build strong, professional relationships with customers Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and service chemical application and dispensing systems Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical equipment issues and determine appropriate solutions Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and routine customer service visits Transfer chemical products from drums into bulk storage containers Maintain accurate service documentation and customer records Protect confidential customer and company information Manage an assigned customer route through effective scheduling, organization, and time management Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory in a professional manner Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members regarding service needs and follow-up items Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Minimum 3-5 years of mechanical or related technical experience Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record required Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Electrical circuitry experience highly desirable Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and manage a regional customer territory Comfortable using computers and basic Microsoft Office applications Ability to establish and maintain a home office Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs.
