Position Overview:
The Vision Companies is seeking a motivated Mitigation Technician to join a growing restoration team in Plymouth, MN. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to build a career in the restoration industry. The Mitigation Technician is responsible for responding to residential and commercial property losses caused by water, fire, smoke, storms, mold, and other disasters. This role focuses on mitigating damage, restoring affected properties, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the restoration process.
Key Responsibilities:
Water, Fire & Storm Mitigation Perform water extraction, structural drying, and dehumidification procedures Conduct fire and smoke damage cleaning and deodorization Assist with storm damage cleanup and emergency restoration services Set up and monitor drying equipment to ensure proper moisture removal Perform demolition and debris removal as needed to prepare properties for restoration Restoration Support Operate restoration equipment safely and efficiently Follow restoration procedures and project specifications Document completed work and communicate project updates with supervisors Maintain a clean and organized job site and company vehicle Assist with additional restoration duties as assigned Customer Service & Safety Provide professional and courteous service to homeowners, business owners, and insurance representatives Communicate effectively with customers regarding project progress Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices Read and follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS) Properly wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing restoration work
Qualifications:
Required High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Preferred Previous restoration, mitigation, construction, demolition, or general labor experience Experience operating restoration equipment Knowledge of water, fire, or mold mitigation processes
Working Conditions:
Indoor and outdoor work environments at residential and commercial properties Exposure to water, smoke, mold, dust, debris, weather conditions, and restoration equipment Frequent travel to customer job sites Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and teamwork Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds Ability to safely operate restoration equipment and tools Willingness to wear protective clothing and safety equipment when required Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS)
