SUMMARY:
MFT is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, and support custom automation and material handling equipment at customer sites. This role includes domestic and international travel up to approximately 50% and requires strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and customer-service skills. When not traveling, the technician will work onsite with MFT's Integration and Engineering teams to build, test, validate, and prepare equipment for shipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and service MFT equipment at customer facilities. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related issues. Make adjustments, modifications, and repairs to ensure proper equipment operation. Support customer startup, setup, optimization, and operator/maintenance training. Document service work, equipment status, corrective actions, and open issues. Work with Engineering, Integration, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams to test and validate equipment before shipment. Assist with equipment setup, commissioning, functional testing, FAT/SAT activities, and shipment preparation. Support customer startup, setup, optimization, and operator/maintenance training. Document service work, equipment status, corrective actions, and open issues. Work with Engineering, Integration, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams to test and validate equipment before shipment. Assist with equipment setup, commissioning, functional testing, FAT/SAT activities, and shipment preparation. Represent MFT professionally while working with customers and project teams.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or
Experience:
Technical degree, vocational training, or equivalent hands-on experience. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with industrial machinery, automation equipment, conveyors, sensors, motors, pneumatics, or similar systems. Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation. Comfortable using hand tools, test equipment, and diagnostic tools. Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently while traveling and collaborate effectively with internal teams. Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 50%. Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with custom automation or capital equipment. Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, servo motors, VFDs, sensors, motion control, pneumatic systems, or vision systems. Experience with equipment commissioning, FAT/SAT, operator training, or troubleshooting in a production environment.
