Field-Based / On-Site Position Summary SYMX is seeking a technically capable and highly adaptable Field Technician to install, commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair SYMX equipment deployed on mining vehicles and throughout mine sites. This is a hands-on field service role requiring direct interaction with mining equipment, SYMX hardware, vehicle interfaces, and customer personnel. The Field Technician will own the successful fitting, testing, maintenance, and field support of SYMX equipment and will provide feedback to help improve SYMX products and deployment processes. Mining experience, particularly underground/sub-surface mining , is preferred, but not a prerequisite. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, commission, and test SYMX equipment on mining vehicles and other site equipment. Interface SYMX equipment with vehicle systems including CAN bus, J1939, and other vehicle interfaces . Troubleshoot SYMX equipment and vehicle interfaces and perform diagnostic investigation and resolution (DI/DR) . Perform routine maintenance, repairs, equipment replacement, and upgrades at customer sites. Provide on-site technical support to SYMX customers and work directly with mine maintenance, operations, and technical personnel. Use computers, diagnostic tools, and technical documentation to configure, test, and troubleshoot equipment. Document installations, maintenance activities, faults, and resolutions. Provide field feedback to Operations and Engineering and identify opportunities to improve SYMX equipment, installation methods, and customer support. Work safely and in accordance with SYMX and customer mine-site requirements. Required Qualifications & Skills Strong hands-on technical and troubleshooting aptitude. Experience working with mechanical, electrical, electronic, or vehicle systems. Understanding of CAN bus, J1939, and vehicle communication systems . Comfortable using computers and technical software for configuration and diagnostics. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation. Ability to troubleshoot problems systematically and determine root causes. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently. Mining experience preferred, particularly underground/sub-surface mining . Understanding of mining maintenance and preventative-maintenance practices is an asset. Valid MSHA certification/training is an asset. Strong communication, professionalism, initiative, and accountability are essential. Working Environment This is a field-based position requiring frequent travel to active mining operations , including underground/sub-surface mine environments . The successful candidate must be comfortable: Working underground and around heavy mobile mining equipment. Working in industrial environments and varying site conditions. Working outdoors and in confined or physically demanding areas where required. Working non-standard hours when required by customer operations or maintenance schedules. Following all applicable mine-site safety procedures and customer requirements. Important Role Characteristics This is a field service and technical operations position , not a software development role. The position involves using computers and technical tools for configuration, diagnostics, and troubleshooting, but coding and programming are not responsibilities of the role . This is a fully field-based position with no work-from-home option . Frequent travel to customer mine sites is an essential part of the job.
