Bi-State St. Louis Region Job Summary The Gasket Guy is looking for a motivated, mechanically inclined Gasket Installer / Service Technician to service commercial kitchen equipment throughout the Illinois side of the St. Louis metro area . This is a commission-based, route service position responsible for gasket replacement and a variety of light mechanical and hardware replacements on commercial kitchen equipment. This role is ideal for someone who likes hands-on work, solving problems on-site, and maximizing earnings through productivity and quality service. Key Responsibilities Remove and install door gaskets on commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment Replace and service cutting boards, door hinges, door closers, door heaters, latches, strikes, and other door-related hardware Service walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, prep tables, hot-side equipment, and related units Measure, identify, and fit gaskets accurately to specifications Inspect doors, frames, and hardware for proper seal, alignment, and operation Identify additional service opportunities while on-site Communicate professionally with customers regarding work performed and recommendations Document completed work with notes and photos using a mobile device Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service vehicle Territory & Schedule Primary service area: St. Louis Bi-State region Local route-based service (home nightly with occasional overnight travel) Typical schedule: Monday-Friday Flexible start/end times based on route and workload Compensation Commission-based pay (earnings tied directly to completed work) Strong earning potential for motivated, efficient technicians Paid training and ongoing support Company vehicle and tools provided (if applicable - adjust as needed) Required Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools Ability to work independently and manage a service route Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Customer-friendly, professional demeanor Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work (bending, kneeling, standing) Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated Preferred (Not Required) Experience in commercial kitchens, refrigeration, HVAC, or maintenance Route service or field technician background Commission or piece-rate work experience Smartphone proficiency for job documentation Why Work for The Gasket Guy?
