Entry-Level Field Technician - Laborer/Helper Position Summary The Entry-Level Field Technician - Laborer/Helper is a member of the Field Operations Team and supports experienced Field Service and Installation Technicians with the installation, maintenance, service, and repair of material handling equipment, loading dock equipment, industrial/commercial doors, and related equipment. This is an entry-level, hands-on position designed for someone interested in developing mechanical and technical skills while learning from experienced technicians in the field. Previous industry experience is not required. The employee will begin by assisting with basic field tasks and will be expected to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to take on greater responsibility over time. Work is performed primarily at customer locations, construction sites, warehouses, and industrial/commercial facilities. Responsibilities Assist experienced technicians with equipment installations, repairs, preventative maintenance, and service work. Provide general labor and mechanical assistance at customer and job sites. Assist with the removal, disassembly, assembly, and installation of equipment and components. Carry, stage, load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, parts, and materials. Use basic hand tools and power tools under appropriate supervision. Assist technicians with measuring, drilling, fastening, mounting, and other basic installation and repair activities. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow instructions from Field Technicians, Lead Technicians, supervisors, and other assigned personnel. Learn proper use and care of company tools, equipment, vehicles, and safety equipment. Follow all company and job-site safety procedures and requirements. Assist with job-site preparation and cleanup. Maintain a professional demeanor when working at customer locations. Participate in company-provided training and actively develop mechanical, equipment, and troubleshooting skills. Perform other field and Operations-related duties as assigned. Requirements No previous material handling or field service experience required but preferred. Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning a skilled trade are preferred. Willingness and ability to learn how to safely use hand tools and power tools. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality. Ability to work effectively as part of a field service or installation team. Professional and respectful demeanor with customers and coworkers. Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical, hands-on work. Ability to work safely around machinery, equipment, vehicles, and active job sites. Valid U.S. driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must be at least 18 years old. Must successfully complete required pre-employment background check and drug screening. Physical & Work Requirements The position requires regular physical activity in industrial, commercial, warehouse, and construction environments.

Employees must be able to:

Lift and carry up to fifty pounds. Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull while performing field work. Climb and work from ladders. Work comfortably at heights when properly trained and using required fall-protection equipment. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions. Safely use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Travel to customer and job sites as required. Training & Certifications BODE will provide or coordinate required training based on job responsibilities. OSHA 10 certification is required. If the employee does not have OSHA 10 certification at hire, training will be arranged during the initial employment period. A DOT Medical Card may be required depending on vehicle and job responsibilities. If required, the employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate certification. Additional equipment, safety, manufacturer, and technical training will be provided as appropriate as the employee progresses. Career Development This position is intended to provide an entry point into BODE's field operations career path. Employees who demonstrate reliability, safe work practices, mechanical aptitude, technical development, and the ability to perform increasingly complex work may progress into higher-level Field Technician, Installation Technician, or Service Technician positions.
