This position is based at our Myers Controlled Power factory in North Canton, Ohio.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Understand and adhere to company safety policies and procedures. 2. Understanding of basic electrical theory. 3. Ability to interpret electrical schematics. 4. Possession of those trouble-shooting skills needed to identify and resolve wiring and component application problems in switchgear equipment. 5. Ability to use and operate various types of test equipment to perform the tasks of a test technician. 6. Ability and willingness to travel when required. 7. Ability to lead equipment testing supervising other technicians. 8. Familiarity with Control Systems verification and troubleshooting. 9. Experience testing in a Power Substation environment is a plus.
Specific tests include:
Dielectric (HiPot) Testing, CT Verification, and Transformer Testing. Typical system voltages range from 5 - 38 KVAC and up to 1600 VDC.
Qualifications:
Minimum two (2) years technical degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience. 2 years of field service testing experience Familiar with switchgear application Must be familiar with test requirements defined per
ANSI C37.20
Ability to read and understand documents written in standard English Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Safety and quality-oriented, accountable, dependable, reliable, productive, ethical, a strong communicator, innovative, a team player, and have a positive attitude
