Position Summary
  • You do not have to have previous instrument repair experience to be considered.
  • We will train you! When surgical instruments are sharpened and working properly, surgeons can focus on providing the best care for their patients. This crucial field service position is truck-based, and you will work closely with 2 other technicians, driving to Customer hospitals throughout the territory to provide onsite mobile repair services.

Travel:
  • This full-time 1st shift position is primarily Monday through Friday.
You will meet your colleagues at the mobile repair truck storage in the morning, and you will drive together to Customer locations within the greater Columbus area or in nearby cities. All travel time on the truck is paid. What You Will Do Perform basic to intermediate inspection and repairs on surgical instrumentation using grinding wheels, buffing wheels, various hand and power tools, soldering, etc. Complexity of repairs and level of intricacy will vary. Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail and willingness to learn will help you be successful in this role.   • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (CDL not required) and maintain required vaccines.
Must be at least 21 years old to meet the FMCSA age requirement for commercial interstate driving. What is relevant work experience? Many kinds of work can be relevant. For example, hands-on repair, assembly, or product testing and use of small hand tools is a plus. Small engine repair, cell phone and electronics repair, testing, or re-builds, carpentry, circuit board assembly and repair, sterile processing, industrial sewing, and jewelry repair are relevant experience.
