Summary The Field Service Technician is responsible for traveling to customer facilities to install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cooling systems and related industrial equipment. This position serves as a technical representative of the company, providing hands-on support to customers while ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. The role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Travel to customer sites to perform equipment installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repair services. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid system issues and implement corrective actions. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical drawings, and service manuals. Test, calibrate, adjust, and verify equipment performance to ensure compliance with operational specifications. Communicate professionally with customers to identify equipment concerns, explain findings, and recommend service solutions. Collaborate with sales, engineering, production, inventory, purchasing, and customer support teams to resolve technical and service-related issues. Complete and maintain accurate service documentation, including inspection reports, service reports, travel records, and parts usage. Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, customer safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Maintain service tools, equipment, company vehicles, and inventory required to support field operations. Provide customer training and technical guidance on the proper operation and maintenance of equipment when required. Stay current on product updates, new technologies, industry best practices, and service procedures. When not assigned to customer locations, assist the Quality and Continuous Improvement Teams. Experience/Qualifications/Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred. Minimum 2-5 years of experience servicing industrial manufacturing equipment. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-based systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Technical degree, trade certification, or equivalent combination of education and field service experience preferred. Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery, cooling systems, or related equipment. Ability to travel frequently, including overnight travel as business needs require. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and industrial equipment. Ability to lift equipment and tools, work in industrial environments, and perform physical job duties safely. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required. Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in using relevant tools, equipment, and software applications for field service operations.
