This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills to ensure optimal equipment performance while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will provide expert technical support, conduct preventative maintenance, and identify opportunities to enhance system reliability and efficiency. Primary Job Responsibilities Installation & Commissioning Install and commission industrial equipment, including water treatment systems, heat transfer equipment, and industrial laundry machinery, ensuring proper functionality. Perform system startup, calibration, and adjustments to optimize performance. Train and educate the customers on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols. Maintenance & Repair Conduct routine maintenance and preventative service to minimize equipment downtime. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, PLC, and pneumatic systems. Repair or replace critical components such as motors, pumps, valves, PLCs, sensors, and control panels. Ensure equipment meets operational standards through calibration and performance testing. Customer Support & Documentation Provide technical support both on-site and remotely to assist customers with troubleshooting and system optimization. Maintain and deliver timely detailed digital service records, documenting work performed, parts used, and recommended follow-ups. Establish and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring professional communication and support. Identify and recommend opportunities for service contracts, spare parts sales, and system upgrades. Requirements Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred. 3+ years of field service experience in industrial equipment, water treatment systems, heat transfer technology, or related fields. Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems. Hands-on PLC troubleshooting experience required; proficiency with industrial control systems, sensors, and automation. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, heat exchangers, and industrial PLC controls. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently. Approximately 90% travel required; standard schedule is Monday departure through Friday return. Intermittent weekend coverage required for special projects (a few times per year). Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and drug screening. Valid passport required for international travel; passport fees are reimbursed by the company. Additional Information This is a full-time, hourly position. Overtime is paid for all hours worked beyond 40 hours per week. Travel is primarily throughout the United States and Canada, with a few international trips per year. The standard travel schedule is Monday departure through Friday return; occasional weekend work is required for special projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with expertise in water treatment, heat transfer, and industrial machinery, who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
