This includes water extraction, drying, demolition of damaged materials, and setting up proper drying equipment to prevent mold growth and structural issues. ⸻ Key Responsibilities Respond quickly to emergency water damage calls (24/7 rotation may be required) Perform on-site assessment of water damage and develop mitigation plan Extract standing water using pumps and vacuums Remove unsalvageable materials (drywall, insulation, flooring, etc.) Set up and monitor drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers) Measure moisture levels using meters and thermal imaging tools Apply antimicrobial treatments to prevent mold growth Document job progress with photos, notes, and moisture readings Communicate clearly with homeowners, insurance adjusters, and project managers Follow IICRC standards and company procedures Maintain cleanliness of job sites and equipment Ensure proper handling and disposal of debris ⸻ Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent IICRC certification (WRT preferred; ASD a plus) Experience in water mitigation, restoration, or construction (preferred) Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments Strong problem-solving and communication skills ⸻ Work Environment Indoor and outdoor work in damaged properties Exposure to water, mold, debris, and varying temperatures Requires PPE (personal protective equipment) May involve crawl spaces, attics, and confined areas ⸻ Skills & Competencies Knowledge of drying techniques and equipment Attention to detail in documentation and moisture tracking Time management in emergency situations Customer service and professionalism under stress ⸻ Compensation (Typical Range) $26-$28/hour depending on experience Overtime and emergency bonuses often available
