Take your work into the community. The City of Clinton is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Field Service Technician to support our Utility Billing team. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, and meeting people throughout the day, we'd like to hear from you. In this role, you'll read and inspect water and electric meters, record accurate usage information, complete utility service requests, and help customers with questions about their service. You'll work primarily in the field and participate in a scheduled on-call rotation. What you'll do Travel assigned routes in a City vehicle to read water and electric meters and record usage with a handheld device. Identify damaged meters and unusual usage, and report or address issues as appropriate. Turn water service on or off and disconnect or reconnect electric meters using required safety procedures. Respond professionally to customer questions and service requests. Support accurate billing records and maintain your assigned vehicle and equipment. Minimum qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid South Carolina driver's license. Ability to work outdoors in changing weather, walk and bend frequently, and regularly lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to participate in scheduled on-call duty and respond to emergencies. One to two years of experience in utilities, field service, or related work is preferred, not required .
