Job Description

Ice House America, LLC (IHA) is on the lookout for a Field Installation Technician. At IHA, we foster an atmosphere where customers, collaboration, innovation, and teamwork are at the forefront of our success.
Field Installation Technician Responsibilities:
As a key member of our team, the Field Installation Technician is responsible for completing the delivery, installation, setup, and commissioning of IHA machines at customer and company locations throughout the United States. This role requires strong hands-on technical ability, attention to detail, safe work habits, and a customer-focused approach while traveling extensively to support installation projects. When not traveling, this position may support installation preparation, equipment staging, production, and related project work at the Moultrie, Georgia facility.
Main responsibilities:
Equipment Installation and Commissioning:
Perform field installation, setup, and commissioning of IHA machines at customer sites and company locations. Complete assigned installations on schedule while meeting IHA quality, safety, and workmanship expectations. Position, level, secure, assemble, and prepare equipment for operation in accordance with company installation standards. Perform required mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related installation work within the scope of the position. Connect and verify machine components, accessories, payment systems, communications equipment, signage, graphics, and other installation-related items. Perform startup procedures, operational testing, and final inspections to confirm machines are functioning properly before completing the installation. Troubleshoot and resolve installation-related issues in the field and coordinate with Technical Support or other internal resources when additional assistance is required. Complete final installation punch-list items and ensure the machine and surrounding work area are clean, professional, and ready for customer use.
Travel and Customer Site Support:
Travel extensively, estimated up to 75%, to support installation projects across the United States. Represent IHA professionally while working at customer locations, including maintaining a professional appearance and strong customer service approach. Coordinate with customers and internal teams as needed regarding site access, installation timing, equipment placement, and project requirements. Communicate job status, technical issues, delays, site conditions, parts or material needs, and follow-up items clearly and timely to the appropriate team members. Work independently in the field while using sound judgment, urgency, and problem-solving skills to keep installations moving forward. Adapt to changing schedules, project requirements, site conditions, and travel needs as necessary to successfully complete installations.
Installation Preparation, Documentation, and Coordination:
Review installation requirements and project information prior to arriving at the customer location. Confirm required tools, equipment, parts, materials, and installation supplies are available before deployment whenever possible. Use company systems and tools to document installations, job status, equipment information, site conditions, work completed, and required follow-up. Complete required installation documentation, photographs, checklists, and other project closeout information accurately and timely. Coordinate with Installation Operations, Parts, Customer Service, Technical Support, Manufacturing, Vending Operations, and other internal teams to support successful project execution. Maintain tools, materials, vehicles, trailers, and work areas in an organized and professional manner. Assist with machine preparation, staging, loading, installation readiness, production support, or similar work at the Moultrie facility when not assigned to field travel.
Safety and Quality:
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work practices. Follow proper procedures when handling, moving, lifting, positioning, and installing equipment. Operate company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment safely and responsibly. Maintain attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship on every installation. Identify and communicate site conditions or installation concerns that could impact safety, equipment performance, or project completion. Identify and communicate opportunities to improve installation quality, efficiency, documentation, equipment preparation, or field execution processes.
Additional Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or trade certification preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in equipment installation, field service, construction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, equipment repair, or another related hands-on technical field preferred.
  • Experience installing, setting, commissioning, or servicing commercial equipment is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain an applicable medical card, as required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, up to approximately 75%.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on installation requirements, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends as projects require.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn company-specific systems, tools, and documentation processes.
  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or other relevant technical certifications are a plus.
  • CDL license, or willingness to pursue a CDL license, is a plus.
  • Experience towing trailers or transporting commercial equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to lift, carry, climb, bend, kneel, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions as required by the job.
