Job Summary The Field Technician III - Pumps & Electrical Maintenance will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of the assigned water and/or wastewater systems. This is a role that will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with the project scope and objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, with proven hands-on experience in a similar role. Responsibilities Under direct supervision, performs general maintenance and repairs of the assigned utility systems Operation of vehicles and equipment to include power tools, pumps, mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, etc. Review service orders to determine locations where services need to be performed Maintains required paperwork and logs in compliance with Federal, State and local rules and regulations Inspect pumps, electrical and utility systems, meters, and connections to determine defects, faults and damages Repairs and/or replaces broken water mains and service lines Communicate problems with meters or incorrect readings to immediate supervisor Connect and disconnect utility services as directed Ensure that all data in the utility log book is maintained correctly, and kept updated Locate underground utility lines Work in a safe manner and in accordance with safety policies Wear steel toe protective footwear and other personal protection equipment during regular work hours Performs other related duties as directed Job Qualifications High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Records are required At least 2-3 years of experience with servicing utility systems Ability and willingness to work independently Ability to understand water systems and concepts Strong attention to detail Ability to perform sustained physical labor, including heavy lifting and working above your head and below your feet Neat and clean in appearance, courteous and friendly with the general public and willing to be a part of a team Must be available to work overtime and 'on-call' as needed Physical Requirements Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor in outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow). Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted; occasionally required to lift heavier objects with assistance or mechanical aids. Must be able to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights, including ladders, scaffolding, or into vaults, manholes, and tanks. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle tools, operate valves, and use instrumentation or control devices. Visual and auditory ability to detect, identify, and diagnose equipment malfunctions or leaks in piping and system components. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, safety harnesses, gloves, and protective clothing. Able to safely enter and work in hazardous environments including those with strong odors, loud noise, and potential chemical exposure. Must maintain physical readiness to respond quickly to emergency repairs or system failures, including after-hours or on-call assignments.
