Job Description

Overview This Shop Technician position is responsible for setting up Sharp Business Equipment in house in a timely and professional manner. This technically-focused position often serves as internal customer service to delivery drivers and field technicians seeking remote technical support at installs. This position also can occasionally serve as external customer service when performing on-site troubleshooting and installations. The range of duties can include scheduling and communication on internal setup schedule; completion and filing of official documentation; and cleanliness and upkeep of the setup shop and warehouse environments. Responsibilities Picks, assembles, programs, and maintains quality assurance of equipment as assigned to meet delivery timelines Maintains paperwork and record keeping associated with equipment set-up and proper tracking of inventory used Assists field technicians with parts and service manual questions Maintains the shop set-up schedule to timeline driven requirements Owns cleanliness and inventory control of set-up area Performs "level one" service calls involving preventative maintenance Assists service with customer in-shop troubleshooting and repairs Must successfully complete Sharp equipment pre-testing and training; then stay current on training requirements as needed Understands and properly performs all mechanical and electronic adjustments on equipment as outlined in manuals and bulletins Manages projects as assigned by team leadership Assists in the warehouse and with deliveries as needed Other duties as assigned which may include but are not limited to: working in our system to help pick and fulfill/ship out equipment and supply orders, and to help perform inventory counts Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent education Valid driver's license and clean record Individual should be physically fit and be able to lift object weighing up to 50 pounds on occasion as well as walk and remain standing for long periods of time Ability to drive 15-foot box truck Previous experience in a warehouse environment a plus Forklift experience a plus Basic Microsoft skills preferred About Sharp Business Systems Sharp Business Systems (SBS) is a direct sales division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, the U.S. based subsidiary of Japan's Sharp Corporation. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
