BUILD A CAREER IN TECHNICAL FIELD SERVICE

Snelling is recruiting a Field Service Technician for a well-established Bryan company that services copiers, printers, and related office equipment throughout the Bryan/College Station area. This is not an industrial maintenance or property maintenance position. This is a hands-on technical service role for someone who enjoys fixing equipment, working with tools, troubleshooting problems, and interacting with customers. The company has an exceptionally stable service department, with technicians who have been part of the organization for 10 to more than 40 years. They are looking for someone interested in developing a technical skill set and building a long-term career with the team. Direct copier or printer experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong mechanical or electronic aptitude who are dependable, professional, and eager to learn will be considered.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Field Service Technician, you will travel to customer locations to diagnose, service, and repair copiers, printers, and related office equipment.

• Diagnose and repair copier, printer, and office equipment issues
• Use hand tools to disassemble, repair, adjust, and reassemble equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electronic, and basic technical problems
• Follow service manuals, technical documentation, and troubleshooting procedures
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled customer service calls
• Communicate professionally with customers while working at their locations
• Complete service documentation accurately
• Handle certain IT-related service issues remotely when appropriate
• Maintain an organized and dependable daily service schedule
• Participate in hands-on, online, and ride-along technical training

TRAINING PROVIDED

New technicians receive structured training that includes:

• Hands-on instruction
• Ride-alongs with experienced Service Technicians
• Online technical training
• Ongoing support while learning equipment and troubleshooting procedures During the first several months, new technicians will generally remain closer to the Bryan/College Station area while developing their skills.

SCHEDULE AND SERVICE AREA

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• One-hour lunch
• Report to the Bryan office each morning at 8:00 AM
• Most service calls are within approximately 50 miles of Bryan
• Overall service territory extends approximately 85 miles from the office
• Daily mileage varies and may occasionally reach approximately 150 miles Technicians use their personal vehicle for service calls and receive mileage reimbursement through a monthly expense report.

COMPENSATION AND SUPPORT

• $17.00
• 18.00 per hour starting pay
• Higher starting pay may be considered for candidates with direct office equipment experience
• Mileage reimbursement
• $30 monthly reimbursement toward personal mobile phone data usage
• Company-provided tools
• Paid hands-on training
• Online technical training
• Monday through Friday daytime schedule

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have:

• Valid Texas driver's license
• Acceptable driving record
• Current automobile insurance
• Reliable personal transportation
• Mobile phone
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to meet client background requirements
• Dependable work history
• Professional communication skills
• Willingness to travel locally to customer locations

EXPERIENCE THAT TRANSLATES WELL

Direct copier or printer experience is not required.

Relevant backgrounds may include:

• Copier or printer repair
• Office equipment service
• Electronics repair
• Computer or IT hardware repair
• Field service
• Equipment service and repair
• Appliance repair
• Vending or ATM equipment service
• Low-voltage or electronic troubleshooting
• Automotive electrical or diagnostic work
• Small equipment repair
