Entry-Level Service Technician Axis Water Technologies Position Summary The Entry-Level Service Technician is responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial water treatment systems. This position is designed for an individual who is mechanically inclined, dependable, willing to learn, and interested in developing a long-term career in the water treatment industry. The Entry-Level Service Technician will work alongside experienced technicians to gain hands-on knowledge of water treatment equipment, plumbing, pumps, motors, electrical components, controls, and system operation. The technician will be expected to learn Axis Water Technologies' service procedures and progressively develop the skills necessary to independently service customer equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist experienced technicians with the installation, startup, maintenance, and repair of water treatment systems. Perform routine service and preventive maintenance on residential, commercial, and industrial equipment under appropriate supervision. Learn to diagnose mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and water treatment equipment issues. Learn the operation and maintenance of water softeners, filtration systems, reverse osmosis systems, pumps, chemical feed systems, and related equipment. Perform basic plumbing work, including installation and repair of PVC, PEX, tubing, valves, fittings, and related components. Assist with equipment testing, water quality testing, system adjustments, and performance checks. Use hand tools, power tools, meters, gauges, and other service equipment safely and properly. Follow service procedures, safety requirements, and manufacturer recommendations. Maintain clean and organized work areas, service vehicles, tools, and equipment. Maintain accurate service records, work orders, equipment information, and customer documentation. Communicate professionally with customers and provide courteous, dependable service. Learn to identify equipment problems and communicate findings to senior technicians and management. Maintain an organized inventory of commonly used parts, tools, and supplies. Assist with emergency and after-hours service calls as training and experience allow. Attend company training and participate in ongoing technical education. Develop the knowledge and skills necessary to progress toward an independent Service Technician position. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with hand and power tools. Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to safely perform physical work in a variety of environments. Basic understanding of mathematics and the ability to take accurate measurements. Preferred Previous mechanical, plumbing, electrical, construction, automotive, HVAC, irrigation, or maintenance experience. Experience using hand tools and power tools. Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and fittings. Basic electrical or mechanical troubleshooting experience. Previous experience in a service or field-based position. Water treatment experience or industry-related training. No prior water treatment experience is required. Training will be provided to candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, mechanical aptitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in confined or difficult-to-access areas. Ability to work with hand and power tools for extended periods. Ability to work in residential, commercial, industrial, and outdoor environments. Ability to work in varying weather conditions. Ability to travel to customer locations as required. Training & Development Axis Water Technologies will provide hands-on training and mentorship to help the Entry-Level Service Technician develop into a knowledgeable and independent service professional.
Training may include:
Water treatment fundamentals. Water softeners and filtration systems. Reverse osmosis systems. Pumps, motors, and pressure systems. Plumbing and piping systems. Electrical components and controls. Water testing and system diagnostics. Preventive maintenance procedures. Equipment installation and startup. Customer service and communication. Service documentation and company procedures. Safe operation of tools and equipment. As experience and technical knowledge increase, the technician will be given greater responsibility and opportunities to perform service work independently. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Attendance and punctuality. Completion of assigned service work. Quality and accuracy of work. Progress in technical training. Ability to safely use tools and equipment. Preventive maintenance completion. Customer service and professionalism. Proper completion of service documentation. Equipment troubleshooting and diagnostic skill development. Safety performance and compliance. Career Development The Entry-Level Service Technician position is intended to provide a pathway for advancement within Axis Water Technologies. A successful technician may progress through positions such as: Entry-Level Service Technician Service Technician Senior Service Technician Lead Service Technician Advancement will be based on technical knowledge, troubleshooting ability, work quality, reliability, customer service, safety performance, and demonstrated ability to work independently. Position Purpose The Entry-Level Service Technician plays an important role in supporting Axis Water Technologies' customers while developing the technical skills necessary to become a highly capable water treatment professional. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, learning new equipment, and providing excellent customer service.
