Job description: Parking Guidance Systems (PGS) is a dynamic technology company committed to providing the highest quality equipment and service in the parking industry. PGS is most recognized in major airports, hospitals, universities, retail centers, and municipalities by its dynamic directional signage and the red and green LED indicator lights over every parking space. All devices used are low voltage and operate on either Ethernet or
RS485/422
networks. About the Role We're looking for a Field Service Technician in Richmond, TX area who enjoys hands-on technical work and delivering outstanding customer support. You'll install, service, and maintain parking guidance, access control, and low-voltage IP-based systems at client sites nationwide. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in solving problems, working independently, and representing the company with professionalism. Key Responsibilities Install and configure parking guidance sensors, cameras, and networked controllers. Troubleshoot low-voltage wiring, IP/RS485 communication, and hardware issues. Performing-site maintenance, system checks, and customer training as needed. Communicate clearly with clients, providing updates, explanations, and service reports. Work closely with the support team to ensure timely issue resolution and quality service. Follow safety standards and maintain a professional, organized work environment. Travel regularly within the continental U.S. for field installations and support visits. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in field service, low-voltage, or technical support. Working knowledge of IP networking, serial communication (RS485), and cabling. Strong customer service and communication skills. Proficient with hand tools, multimeters, and basic diagnostic equipment. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Valid driver's license required; travel flexibility is a must.
