Job Description

Position Summary:
Bolivar Water Supply Corporation is seeking a dependable, motivated Field Service Technician to join our field operations team. This position performs routine water utility work, responds to member service calls, assists with system maintenance, and helps ensure the water distribution system is operating safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on field position with opportunities for cross-training in multiple areas of water system operations. Duties Respond to member service calls and field requests. Investigate and locate water leaks on the distribution system and customer service lines. Respond to low-water-pressure complaints and investigate possible causes. Perform and assist with water service disconnections and reconnections. Check meters, meter boxes, valves, and related equipment. Assist with water main and service line repairs. Assist with locating and identifying water lines and system facilities.. Perform routine field inspections and document findings. Assist with emergency water leaks, line breaks, pressure issues, and other system emergencies. Operate hand tools, power tools, and utility equipment safely. Maintain work vehicles, tools, and equipment. Complete required work orders, service documentation, photographs, and other records accurately. Follow BWSC safety procedures, SOPs, and instructions from supervisors. Maintain professional and courteous communication with BWSC members and the public. Assist other departments or field crews when needed. On-Call / Emergency Response This position may participate in a rotating on-call schedule after completing appropriate training. On-call responsibilities may include responding to: Main breaks and significant water leaks Customer leak reports Low-pressure complaints Water outages Service-related emergencies Valve or equipment issues Emergency shutoffs After-hours member calls requiring field investigation Other water system emergencies Employees who demonstrate reliability, technical ability, initiative, and leadership may have opportunities for advancement within the field operations department. Water utility experience or a TCEQ water operator license is preferred but not required.
