Field Service Technician Moore Machine Tools - 5.0 West Jordan, UT Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Moore Machine Tools is seeking a motivated Field Service Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain plate fabrication equipment at customer facilities across the United States. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, a customer first mindset, and a desire to build a long term career in industrial equipment service. Previous press brake experience is a plus, and operator level experience is preferred, but we provide comprehensive factory training for qualified candidates. What You'll Do As a Field Service Technician, you will represent Moore Machine Tools at customer facilities nationwide by providing professional installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services.
Responsibilities include:
Install, commission, and service plate fabrication equipment. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues. Perform preventative maintenance and machine inspections. Troubleshoot CNC controls and electrical components. Train customers on proper machine operation and basic maintenance. Document service work accurately and communicate findings with customers and the service team. Work closely with technical support to resolve complex service issues. Maintain a professional appearance and deliver outstanding customer service during every visit. Travel throughout the United States to support customer installations and service calls. Travel Expectations This is a travel-intensive position based out of Utah.
Typical schedules include:
Two weeks of travel (Monday through Friday) followed by one week working from the Utah office. During busy periods, travel rotations may extend to approximately three consecutive weeks. Weekend travel is uncommon but may occasionally be required due to customer needs or installation schedules. When this occurs, technicians receive additional paid time off to maintain work-life balance. All business travel expenses, including transportation, lodging, and related travel costs, are paid by Moore Machine Tools. What We're Looking For We're more interested in finding the right person than checking every box. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
Preferred qualifications include:
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Previous experience operating or servicing press brakes is preferred but not required. Electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus. Ability to learn CNC machine systems, hydraulic systems, and industrial controls. Comfortable reading technical documentation and following service procedures. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently while representing the company professionally. A strong work ethic and willingness to travel extensively. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Stand, kneel, bend, and work around large industrial machinery for extended periods. Climb ladders and safely work in manufacturing environments. Travel frequently throughout the United States.
