Reef eScape is a high end aquarium service and retail store looking for service technicians to maintain aquariums in our location and customer locations throughout Northern Virginia and the greater DC, Baltimore, and Southern Maryland Metropolitan areas. We are seeking candidates who are interested in and excited to learn more about saltwater and freshwater animal care and maintenance with an emphasis on reef aquariums. A good driving record and a clean background check are essential for this role. While hobby or professional experience is preferred we are willing to hire and train whoever is the right candidate for the job.

Candidates requirements:

Possess a valid license with a clean driving record (insurable) in order to drive company vehicles Ability to work 5 days per week (4 weekdays and 1 weekend day as determined with your supervisor) from 9am-5pm with occasional extended/overtime hours Possess flexibility within each day to change assignments on the fly and respond to any incidents or emergencies in the field Ability to fully submerge your arms in water (both saltwater and freshwater) for extended periods of time Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs without assistance) Ability to bend and potentially work in relatively confined spaces Ability to climb ladders and work from the top of stepladders and raised platforms Work with a team of aquarium professionals and report back to your supervisor about issues encountered in the field while also being able to work independently once trained Possess a cell phone capable of installing work related apps and use these apps throughout the day (e.g. Skimmer, ReefBeat, Inkbird, Mobius, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, ShareWillow) Perform water chemistry tests including titration and color comparison while exercising due diligence with safety protocols Maintain clean work environments both in the store and in the field Maintain your company vehicle and bring it in (company cost) for routine maintenance as required Ability to pass a federal background check for a contractor position if required Perform any other job related functions as required
