Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all occupants and visitors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply a diverse set of skills across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general facilities maintenance, exterior landscaping projects while contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components to ensure optimal performance. Conduct repairs using hand tools and power tools, including welding, carpentry, painting, and electrical work. Troubleshoot issues with facilities equipment by interpreting schematics and using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Assist in supervising junior maintenance staff or contractors during large projects or repairs. Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes during all maintenance activities. Support the installation, repair, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components to minimize downtime. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related fields such as manufacturing or residential building upkeep. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience with hand tools, electrical equipment repair, plumbing, HVAC system repair, and carpentry. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals; familiarity with CMMS software is a plus. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is desirable but not mandatory. Experience with welding techniques and electrical work including troubleshooting electrical circuits using ohmmeters. Excellent communication skills in English; capable of providing clear instructions and documentation. Supervising experience or leadership capabilities are preferred for team coordination roles.
