Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of building systems, equipment, and interior spaces. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all occupants. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply a broad skill set in maintenance, repair, and customer service to support our facility's daily operations and long-term health. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance. Conduct repairs on electrical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and building interior fixtures using hand tools and schematics. Carry out carpentry tasks such as installing or repairing doors, cabinets, shelving, and other interior features. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently. Execute maintenance painting projects to uphold the aesthetic quality of interior spaces. Maintain facilities equipment by diagnosing problems, replacing parts, welding components when necessary, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Support maintenance painting projects including residential painting tasks to improve the appearance of the facility's interior. Read schematics and technical diagrams to accurately identify issues and implement repairs or upgrades. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants while providing excellent customer service. Lead small maintenance projects or assist senior technicians in complex repairs as needed. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and repair operations (MRO). Proficiency with electrical work including repair of electrical equipment and systems; familiarity with HVAC system repair is essential. Ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues. Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair, including pipe fitting and fixture replacement. Experience with welding techniques for metal repairs or fabrication tasks. Knowledge of building interior maintenance practices such as carpentry, painting (including residential), and general facilities upkeep. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in building automation systems. Competence with hand tools, electrical equipment repair tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork. Leadership qualities to oversee or assist with complex maintenance projects while maintaining a positive attitude.
