In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of construction, industrial, and agricultural equipment as well as a fleet of on-highway medium and light duty truck, to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operational, minimize downtime, and support our commitment to excellence in equipment reliability. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy construction machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and forklifts using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and electrical diagnostics tools. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and hydraulic system servicing to maximize equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving transmissions, diesel engines, air brakes, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics to identify root causes efficiently. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function during repairs or modifications. Use power tools and precision measuring instruments for alignment checks, assembly work, and detailed repairs following safety standards and schematics. Assist with heavy equipment operation when necessary for testing or troubleshooting purposes while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of all service activities, inspections, repairs, and parts used; ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, brake repair, suspension systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and tire service. Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately; experience with OEM systems is highly desirable. Skilled in welding, fabrication (including soldering), equipment troubleshooting, assembly work, and use of hand tools and power tools. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a plus; ability to perform heavy lifting safely is required. Various lifting devices are available in shop and in field to assist with loads for safe handling of heavy material. Certifications are always a plus but not required, welding skills are not required but a plus if capable.
