Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tractor/Equipment Technician to join our team at Springdale Tractor Co. As a vital member of our service department, the Technician will play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of agricultural machinery and equipment within our newly remodeled, airconditioned shop! The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough diagnostics on tractors, agricultural equipment, and related machinery to identify issues and determine necessary repairs. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to ensure optimal equipment performance. Repair and replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic equipment. Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and complete repairs in a timely manner to meet customer expectations. Keep accurate records of services performed, including parts used, labor hours, and any additional relevant information. Provide clear and concise explanations to customers regarding the nature of repairs, estimated timelines, and associated costs. Stay informed about industry advancements and updates through continuous training and professional development.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or certification in diesel mechanics or related field is a plus. Proven experience as a Tractor/Equipment Technician or similar role in the agricultural industry. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and address complex mechanical issues. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as computerized diagnostic equipment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment parts and work in various weather conditions. $25 - $55 an hour depending on brand knowledge and experience!
