About the Role As a Field Service Technician specializing in heavy equipment and material handling, you will serve as a critical problem-solver for our clients by ensuring their fleets remain operational and efficient. You will utilize your expertise in diesel engines and hydraulic systems to perform complex repairs, directly impacting the productivity of local businesses. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive maintenance and repairs on a diverse range of diesel, gas, and electric heavy equipment and industrial trucks. Diagnose intricate mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions to restore equipment to peak performance standards. Perform proactive system inspections to identify and mitigate potential failures before they result in costly operational downtime. Document all service activities, parts utilization, and repair outcomes with precision to maintain accurate fleet history. Provide responsive field service support, traveling to client sites to resolve urgent equipment issues. Collaborate with technical teams to refine repair processes and enhance overall fleet reliability. Maintain a high standard of workplace safety and organization in compliance with industry regulations. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment mechanics is highly valued. 5+ years of hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of forklifts or heavy-duty diesel machinery. Proficiency in interpreting technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex hydraulic and electrical systems independently. Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Capability to pass all required background checks and drug screenings. Preferred Skills Current OEM certifications for major forklift or diesel engine manufacturers. ASE or equivalent professional mechanical certifications.
