Independent Contractor Job Summary:

As an EEG (Electroencephalogram) Technologist, you will be responsible for performing EEG procedures to record and monitor electrical brain activity in patients. You will work in a neurology specialty clinic (outpatients only) and collaborate with healthcare professionals to assist in diagnosing and treating neurological disorders. Flexible schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Preparation:

Explain the procedure to patients and ensure they understand and are comfortable with the process. Apply electrodes to the patient's scalp, ensuring proper placement and adherence.

Equipment Setup and Calibration:

Set up and calibrate EEG equipment (CADWELL) to ensure accurate data recording. Troubleshoot and maintain equipment to ensure it functions correctly.

Monitoring EEG Recordings:

Monitor the patient's EEG recordings during the procedure, noting any abnormalities or artifacts. Make adjustments as needed to obtain high-quality EEG data.

Data Collection and Documentation:

Record and document EEG data, including patient information, technical parameters, and observations. Maintain accurate and organized records of all procedures.

Patient Care:

Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure. Assist patients in changing positions as required for different EEG tests.

Maintenance and Quality Control:

Perform routine maintenance on EEG equipment and ensure it meets quality control standards. Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.

Safety and Infection Control:

Adhere to safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff.

Working Conditions:

EEG Technologists will work in an established neurological clinic at Anaheim, California. Outpatients only.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., neuroscience, healthcare technology) or equivalent certification program completion. Certification as an EEG Technologist (e.g., R. EEG T. or equivalent) is typically required. Knowledge of neuroanatomy and neurological conditions. Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret EEG data accurately. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team and under pressure. Willingness to adhere to strict ethical and confidentiality guidelines. EEG Technologists / EEG Technician / EEG Tech play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions, and their work is instrumental in helping patients receive appropriate care. They must be highly skilled, detail-oriented, and compassionate in their patient care.
