In this entry level position as an Assistant Mechanic, your primary focus will be to provide support to the Fleet Services Manager and perform service and repair on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment. The schedule for this position is a ten hour, four day workweek, Tuesday - Friday, 6.30 am - 5:00 pm.

Duties include:

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on company vehicles, equipment and machinery. Troubleshoot and repair company vehicles, equipment and machinery (gas, diesel and electrical) as directed. Search for parts and tools online Perform metal fabrication when required. Fill out and complete work orders. Report to and communicate information to supervisor as needed. Maintain and secure shop, field service truck, work tools, and equipment. Maintain a safe and clean work environment per CALOSHA standards. Follow all safety procedures per CALOSHA standards. Maintain a neat and clean shop (Sweeping, Organizing, Restocking Inventory) Must uphold company policies and procedures. Be willing to learn new job skills.

Experience:

Knowledge of a wide variety of automobiles, small engines, gasoline and diesel engines, heavy equipment, and generators. Ability to work on electrical and hydraulic systems. Knowledge of fabrication, CAD, and CNC machines a plus. Ability to work with a variety of tools and power equipment relevant to maintenance and repair operations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various managers and customers. Working knowledge of computers and ability to learn various computer programs.
