Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Ford gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and construction equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Inspect fleet vehicles and equipment to identify and diagnose mechanical issues, complete necessary repairs, and red-tag units that are unsafe or inoperable. Inspect, adjust, repair, and replace components including valves, hoses, belts, alternators, and other related parts. Diagnose, repair, and maintain cooling, fuel, electrical, exhaust, and hydraulic systems. Perform preventative maintenance and required inspections, including oil and fluid changes, lubrication, safety inspections, and brake repairs. Diagnose engine performance issues and perform engine tune-ups using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment. Fabricate and weld parts or components as necessary to repair vehicles and equipment. Operate vehicles and equipment as needed for testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics. Perform emergency and on-site repairs for vehicle and equipment breakdowns and malfunctions. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs, including work orders, mileage/hours, preventative maintenance schedules, recalls, smog inspections, and warranties. Properly save and tag warranty and core parts and follow established procedures for parts ordering and billing. Inventory, order, and maintain shop tools, supplies, materials, and parts; research and compare parts, equipment, and vehicles as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area, tools, and equipment. Ensure company vehicles and equipment are kept clean and washed after maintenance or repairs are completed. Perform all work in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner to maintain the safety and reliability of company vehicles and equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned.
