Fixed Maintenance Senior Vulcan Materials Company - 3.5 San Diego, CA Job Details Full-time $30 - $40 an hour 14 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Fabrication English Driver's License Electrical systems Welding repair Fabrication repair techniques Full Job Description Job Description Job Summary The Maintenance- Fixed Senior is responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment used in the mining industry. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as experience with welding and fabrication. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all equipment is operational and in good working condition. Essential Functions
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and troubleshoots problems
  • Reviews lubrication reports and service records and performs oil, lube and filter service on all assigned equipment.
  • Dismantles device to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections
  • Inspects and identifies conditions of equipment (wear, alignment, function, etc)
  • Inspects, diagnoses and performs repair and maintenance of all plant stationary equipment
  • Adjusts functional parts of devise and control instruments using hand and/or power tools
  • General plant maintenance inspection and diagnosis & repairs
  • Perform unsupervised repair of plant components
  • Performs a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including repairs to crushing, screening, conveying, speed reducers, feeders, vibrators, air compressors and pumping equipment.
  • Performs welding tasks as required to accomplish stated installation/repair jobs.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in device. Critical Competencies

  • High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience. Experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in the construction/mining industry preferred.
  • Prior experience in maintenance of fixed mining equipment preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Advanced welding & cutting skills
  • Diagnose and determine repair parts / supplies
  • Ability to interpret blue prints & construct fabricated components (preferred)
  • Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language Other Requirements
  • Advise the Maintenance Supervisor of any operational problems
  • Complies with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies, procedures and requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, or pull, push, as well as, bend and lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Will work outdoors and exposed to varying and/or extreme weather conditions.
  • May work in high and/or precarious places or cramped work space that requires getting into awkward positions.
  • Must be able to work required overtime and flexible work schedule Salary Range.
The base hourly range for this role is between $30.00 - $40.00 per hour . This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
