Summary We are looking for an experienced Forklift Service Technician / Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and other material-handling equipment. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable troubleshooting equipment independently and working on a combination of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and control-system problems . We are looking for a practical, hands-on technician who can determine the actual cause of a problem rather than simply replacing parts until the machine works. Duties And Responsibilities Diagnose and repair electric forklifts and pallet jacks Troubleshoot electrical and electronic control systems Diagnose hydraulic system problems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and leaks Repair steering, braking, drive, mast, tilt, reach, and side-shift systems Diagnose motors, contactors, controllers, switches, sensors, wiring, and connectors Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections Replace wheels, bearings, rollers, chains, cables, seals, and other wear components Read wiring diagrams, service manuals, and hydraulic schematics Identify required replacement parts and assist with sourcing parts Document repairs and maintenance performed Keep equipment safe, reliable, and operational Required Qualifications Previous experience repairing forklifts, industrial equipment, automotive equipment, or similar machinery Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability Experience with electrical diagnosis using a multimeter Familiarity with hydraulic systems Ability to work independently and systematically diagnose problems Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment Ability to safely lift and handle equipment components Valid driver's license Experience with CAT/Yale standup electric reach trucks and pallet jacks is particularly valuable. Compensation $60-$75/hr Depending on the candidate's experience and abilities
