  • Repair Department 30-40 Hours Per Week + Seasonal Overtime | Hiring Immediately We are seeking an experienced, mechanically skilled Septic Service Technician / Installation Assistant to join our underground, excavation, installation and repair team.
This is a hands-on field position for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in doing quality work, works safely and efficiently, and is comfortable operating trucks and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong construction background with experience in septic systems, underground utilities, plumbing, electrical, pumps and excavation and is comfortable working as part of a field crew under the direction of a foreman. Responsibilities Assist with septic system installations, repairs, replacements and underground excavation projects Install and repair septic transmission lines, piping and septic fields Diagnose, repair, replace and install pumps, floats, electrical components and control panels Safely operate excavators and skid steers Safely operate company vehicles while trailering heavy equipment and machinery Load, secure, transport and unload equipment and materials between job sites Operate a forklift and other jobsite equipment as required Assist with excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, piping and system installation Follow detailed instructions and project direction from the team foreman Follow company, OSHA and jobsite safety procedures at all times Communicate effectively with foremen, dispatchers, technicians and other team members Maintain an organized, safe and professional jobsite Move efficiently between tasks and job sites as daily priorities change Required Qualifications Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License Minimum 5 years of professional driving experience Demonstrated ability to safely drive while trailering equipment Minimum 3 years of construction or skilled-trades experience , with an emphasis on plumbing and/or electrical work Experience with septic transmission lines, septic field installation and septic system repairs Experience safely operating excavators and skid steers Ability to operate a forklift Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot field equipment and systems Ability to follow detailed instructions, measurements, plans and established procedures Strong safety awareness and good judgment in the field Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a crew Ability to pass a background check due to work performed at secure facilities, including San Francisco International Airport Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is a strong plus: Septic and wastewater pumps Pump diagnosis and repair Control panels and electrical troubleshooting Vacuum trucks and pumping equipment Underground utility work Septic tanks, lift stations and related wastewater systems Physical & Work Requirements This is an active, outdoor field position.
Candidates must be able to:
Safely lift, carry and maneuver heavy equipment, tools and materials Work on their feet for extended periods Bend, kneel, climb and work around excavation and underground systems Work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions Safely and efficiently move between physical tasks throughout the workday Schedule 30-40 hours per week Seasonal overtime as workload requires Schedule may vary depending on projects, weather and emergency service needs Hiring immediately We are looking for a skilled, dependable tradesperson who takes genuine pride in their work , respects their crew, follows direction and wants to become an important part of an experienced underground and septic service team.
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
