Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Freight Truck and Trailer Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our fleet. In this role, you will perform comprehensive maintenance, repairs, oil change, and inspections on a variety of heavy trucks, trailers, and associated equipment. Your expertise will help maintain optimal vehicle performance, reduce downtime, and uphold safety standards across our operations. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on freight trucks, trailers, and related heavy equipment to identify potential issues early. Be able to do oil changes on freight trucks. Perform repairs on mechanical systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, air brake systems, and electrical components. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems accurately. Carry out welding, fabrication, and assembly tasks to repair or modify equipment as needed. Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently during maintenance procedures. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards while working with high-voltage electrical systems or involving heavy lifting. Skills Proven experience in heavy truck repair, trailer maintenance, or dealership service environments. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and vehicle systems. Skilled in automotive diagnostics using specialized tools and schematics for troubleshooting complex issues. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance machinery. Ability to interpret technical diagrams including schematics for electrical wiring and hydraulic systems. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts or farm machinery is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer service mindset to address driver or client concerns effectively.
