The Role Bailey's is hiring an Equipment Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain the wide range of forestry, firewood processing, milling, and heavy-haul equipment we sell and support. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable moving between hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and specialized processing equipment — and who takes ownership of getting customers back up and running. Equipment You'll Work On Ponsse forestry harvesting/forwarding equipment Albach Diamant chippers/shredders Forst chippers Morbark chippers Dyna firewood processors AM Machinery equipment Kioti tractors Lucas Mill and Wravor sawmill systems Lowboy / heavy-haul trailers and transport equipment Used equipment (multi-brand) Accessory parts and miscellaneous attachments (Experience across all categories isn't required — a strong mechanical foundation with hydraulics, diesel engines, or heavy equipment, and a willingness to cross-train on our full equipment lineup, is what matters most.) What You'll Do Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems across our equipment lines Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and warranty work to manufacturer specifications Troubleshoot field and shop service calls, working directly with customers to minimize downtime Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and labor documentation Coordinate with parts and service coordinators on job status and parts availability Support pre-delivery inspections and setup for new equipment Uphold safety standards in shop and field service environments Must be able to travel occasionally and perform field service work, including overnight stays Periodic travel for manufacturer training, potentially out of state of out of the country. What You Bring 2+ years of experience servicing heavy equipment, diesel engines, hydraulics, or forestry/ag machinery (dealership or field service experience a plus) Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical diagnostics Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics Valid driver's license; CDL a plus (or willingness to obtain) Comfortable working independently and prioritizing across multiple jobs A customer-first mindset — you understand that every repair affects someone's ability to work Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Why Bailey's Work on premium, purpose-built equipment for an industry that keeps the country running Be part of a growing service department with room to specialize and advance Family-owned culture with 50+ years of stability and a reputation built on trust To apply: Send your resume and a brief note on your equipment/mechanical background to Jeff McCaffrey at jmccaffrey@baileysonline.com
