Job Description

Position Description:
YOU MUST BRING EITHER AN RV OR CAMPER TRAILER TO LIVE IN. TENTS, YERTS, AND SOFT-SIDED POP-UP TRAILERS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
Seasonal Position :
Requires frequent travel between work sites.
Season Dates:
Mid-April through mid-November, will vary
Location:
White River National Forest Campgrounds in the
Colorado Rocky Mountains Hours:
30-40 hours (varies) Duties to include, but not limited to, the following : Complete campground maintenance and safety inspections Complete Hazard Tree inspections Complete Hazard Tree Mitigation work Ccomplete documentation related to projects. Diagnosis and repair of minor electrical, water, and infrastructure issues at campgrounds throughout the White River permit. Remove and install campground features as assigned—painting feature and buildings per plans.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of 240-12V electrical systems, basic plumbing skills, use of power equipment, use of heavy equipment. Ability to pull, load, and properly secure a trailer Ability to assemble and install features inside campgrounds.
General knowledge of the following:
Engineering drawings, Assembly instructions, U.S. Forest Service standards Safe operations of equipment to meet OSHA work zone standards.
Have the ability to:
Lift between 50-70 lbs, Bend and kneel frequently Work above your head on a ladder. No certifications are required for this position. Valid Driver's License is required.
Supervisor:
The Heavy Maintenance Team Member position will report directly to the Permit Manager for assignments and supervision.
Requirements:
This position will require frequent mobilization to different areas within the permit. Camping sites will be arranged within the campgrounds where work is to be completed. You must have a self-contained camping unit that can be moved to different locations during the summer season. When and where possible, water and other utilities will be provided, but you may be required to be self-supporting during some projects. Flexibility and willingness to be mobile are mandatory for this position. This position requires working outside 100% of the time, with variable weather conditions. It will require working at elevations ranging from 5,500 ft to over 10,000 ft throughout the season. A company truck with a work trailer and some tools will be provided. This will require being able to successfully pass a criminal and driving background check. You must be approved by our insurance company to drive company vehicles. We follow the National Forest regulations of no illegal drug use or any other substances banned on federal properties. This includes medical marijuana, as it is not recognized on federal lands.
