Creative Lifting Services Inc. is looking for an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic and Shop Foreman to join our team. We specialize in the sales, rentals, service, and repair of self-erecting tower cranes and maintain a diverse fleet of support equipment, including tractor-trailers, generators, light- and medium-duty trucks, and heavy-duty equipment. Most maintenance and repairs are completed in-house. We are looking for a hands-on mechanic and shop leader who can reliably diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, air, hydraulic, and emissions systems while helping manage the day-to-day workload of the shop. Responsibilities & Requirements Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, air, hydraulic, and emissions systems Repair/service diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, steering, drivetrains, and transmissions Knowledge of diesel emissions and aftertreatment systems Ability to use diagnostic equipment and software Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled services, and Annual DOT inspections Provide technical direction and troubleshooting support to other technicians Assign and prioritize daily repairs based on equipment needs and deadlines Monitor jobs from diagnosis through completion and follow up on outstanding repairs Review completed work and help ensure repairs are performed correctly and safely Communicate repair status, parts needs, delays, and equipment readiness to management Coordinate workflow to keep the shop organized, productive, and on schedule Maintain accurate repair and inspection documentation Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Provide your own set of mechanic tools Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Ability to operate a manual transmission Preferred Experience Previous Lead Mechanic, Shop Foreman, or similar leadership experience Construction or heavy equipment experience Crane or lifting equipment experience Forklift operation experience Telehandler operation experience Rigging experience Crane hand signaling / signal person experience Familiarity with safe lifting, material handling, and load-control practices CDL is helpful but not required Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Leadership Expectations This is a working leadership position, not a desk-only foreman role. The Lead Mechanic / Shop Foreman will be expected to work alongside the team while also providing direction, setting priorities, answering technical questions, monitoring progress, and helping ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the shop's daily workload, communicate effectively, hold themselves and others accountable, and step in when the team needs technical support. Physical Demands This is an active, hands-on position that requires the ability to: Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in various positions Climb on, under, and around trucks and heavy equipment Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment Perform repetitive mechanical tasks requiring manual dexterity Lift, carry, push, and pull tools, parts, and equipment as required to perform assigned work Work for extended periods while standing or in confined or awkward positions Safely perform the physical duties associated with heavy-duty equipment maintenance and repairs Work Environment Primarily a shop and yard environment working around trucks, cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, heavy equipment, and machinery Regular exposure to noise, vibration, grease, oil, diesel fuel, exhaust, dust, and other conditions typical of a heavy-equipment repair facility Work may occasionally be performed outdoors and in varying weather conditions Regular use of appropriate PPE and adherence to company safety procedures is required Work involves moving vehicles, suspended or elevated equipment, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other shop-related hazards Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where repair priorities and schedules can change based on operational needs

Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
